I started trading forex in 2011, and my first lesson was a hard one. I was afraid of the market, so I let a friend trade for me. He lost my $1,000 in just three days. That taught me a critical truth early on: you cannot outsource your learning, and nobody should trade money they don't understand.
So I started over—this time as a true student. I practiced on paper, studied classic trading literature, learned Japanese candlestick charting, and spent hours watching price action unfold every day before risking real capital again. When I eventually returned to live trading, I experienced both winning and losing trades. Both have been invaluable teachers.
What keeps me in the charts every day is simple curiosity. I am fascinated by how a single pip moves, how price reacts at key levels, what indicators truly communicate, and how green and red candles tell the ongoing story of buyers and sellers. I read market news, analysis, and trading books daily, and that passion only deepens with time.
